
As Night Falls, KSUIs
jazz program from 7 to 9 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday evenings,
features an eclectic mix of jazz from the classics of Billie Holiday
and Louis Armstrong-to sultry Latin sounds and World music-to
some of the most intriguing techniques offered via contemporary
jazz.
Three area
musicians serve as co-hosts for the program:

Percussionist Dan Moore offers a particularly strong
knowledge of multicultural music. Moore, best known locally
for his work with the popular University of Iowa PanAmerican
Steel Band, is an internationally recognized percussionist,
composer and expert in world music. He is director of percussion
studies at the University of Iowa. |

John
Rapson is a professional musician and director of jazz
studies at the University of Iowa. Rapson has taken the lead
in recording six albums and has appeared on 17 other albums
as a sideman or conductor.

Rapson hosts the Saturday night programs and Dan Moore hosts the
program on Sunday nights.
